I need some help from my fellow CEG'ers. Long story short, somehow, someone got my wife's credit card number and stole her identity.  So far they've bought a digital camera outfit, almost $1000 and a computer, almost $1200. Naturally, we've made all the appropriate notifications to the credit card company and credit bureaus, etc. The help I'm requesting is from anyone in the Tampa, Florida vicinity. The address which all the stuff was shipped to is:
2113 Intervista Ln. Valrico, Florida. If someone in that area could just drive by that address and let me know if it's residential, or if it's a business, the name of the business and maybe a phone number. I've talked to the police in Valrico, in my location and in the places where the companies the stuff was ordered from are, and they have been basically no help.  I'd sure like to find out how someone was able to do this so easily. Any help would be appreciated.....TIA

Address on Terra Server Looks residential to me. Not sure if things would have changed in the last 2 years, but, it looks like a little community to me.

Take it from my experience when it happened to my wife. Get the appropriate fraud alerts put on your credit reports - this goes for EVERYONE to help avoid being a victim in the future. Then chalk it up to experience and move on. Nobody from the local PD to the FBI cared about my case, and I had a freaking name and address for the b!tch who stole my wife's identity! Yes it's a pain in the tail but you're not going to be out any money so just move on.

Yea, thats a giveaway, but now a days they are smarter. They pay a crackhead to sit at a house (vacant) when they know something is coming. They give the guy $50-$100, he signs his name and thats that. Not sure if UPS/Fedex has now started offering "Ways to spot the crackhead on your route" courses yet or not.

Did they use a different name for the actual recipient other than your wife's? If so, go up to the door dressed in a UPS uniform and ring the door bell. When they answer, say; "I have a package for Martha Stewart (or whatever the crooks name is)" and then when they say, that's me, drag her out by the hair and drive her head into the pavement. When she looks up all bleeding and dazed tell her "Buy one more thing on my credit card - I dare you bI tch!" Chances are she won't tell the cops about it, and the theivery will stop. If the cops do harass you about it, then tell them that their Fraud Squad didn't do a damn thing when you reported it, even though you had all the info for them. If it goes to court, it'll get thrown out and I'll rally to have you elected for El Presidente!

Actually, they used my wife's name, just changed all the other info. And I have a big ol 36" Louisville Slugger to take with me too! I want to thank everyone so far for all the responses and advice....this communty of enthusiasts is THE BEST!!!. I'll keep everyone posted on how it's going. My wife just got a call from the Kentucky Attorney General's office and they're gonna help get the local police in gear to get a report. Geeeez, I HATE criminals!!!
