Facing in or out shouldn't make any difference.

Well I decided to spend my money on an SVT instead of an SE. So now instead of having a thousand dollar system, I have a good $200.00 system instead.

Well I have had my experiences with subs and have had the loud boomy subs and have had the tight responsive subs. I prefer sound quality over SPL. If you want to be heard 2 blocks away get a ported box and some subs that are for SPL(2 15" eclipse titanium). Now if your not looking for that boomy bass get a smaller sealed box and subs aimed towards sound quality. I would recommed 2 10" or 12" eclipse aluminum, boston, infinity perfects or JL W7 if you have the money. I think the eclipse alum and boston are really nice sounding subs aimed towards sq, but will also get loud. The eclipse has a huge magnet...cant remember how big, but it would require a lot of power to get it moving. Hope this helps.
Face the subs towards the back...so there facing away from you (if you open the trunk theres facing you).

To expand on this, you are mostly wrong except for getting subs meant for SQ.

Um, no no no.
I'll put my 15" Lambda PB up against any sub you care to throw at it for SQ. Size makes no difference in SQ at all. In fact the 15, being able to play lower frequencies than a 10 or 12, will actually have better sq as it covers a broader range. A 15" sub in a properly tuned, vented enclosure will sound breathtaking.
If you're worried about boomy bass, try listening to a sub in a sealed box that's too small for it...
I can think of alot of subs that you could get over those listed. The W7 is no doubt an amazing driver, but at it's price, and given the power most people run to them, they are a total waste.
A large magnet size does not make the sub a power hungry beast. The magnet on my PB15 is fairly large, yet it will play music at a comfortable listening level all day with 90W. Beasts like the W7 and Brahma have the giant magnets for cases where people are throwing thousands of watts at them. They will still sound just fine at 90W, you just won't be able to play them as loud before running into distortion.
If you listen to your sub and need 1000W you will eventually go deaf.
