So in my opinion.....Cardoc's exhaust is best. Hit him up with an email: cardoc@fordcontour.org . Other than that, go for a custom setup like so:
-2.5" stainless pipe all around -in place of center resonator, Dynomax Ultraflo -Straight pipe splitting into duals all the way to the bumper
The above one is the ultimate sound I've ever heard from a Contour. My friend once heard it and commented, "That does not even sound like a car." Hey dan maybe you should be wearing the Ups Drivers Uniform it would match your nose. Ohh and whos car have your heard with an Ultra flow in place of the res and Str8 Dual pipes out the back.

Bassani. Save and install a 3.0L. As close as you can get while NOT sacrificing performance.

Well, I have the ultrabassanimagnaborlatrappflow in a true triple exhaust (6,3,2,1) 1-3, 2-5, 4-6 configuration - packaging was a piece of cake, just swallow some mandrel bent LSD gears and wait 3 days -
9 times out of 10 people who claim they search and don't come up with the answers need a remedial search class
