BTW, if people want to waste their money on very high cables because it makes them happy, I am all for it, but I will not sit back and let uninformed consumers get sucked into the hype and absolutely WASTE their valuable money on snake oil.

For all CEGers considering new consumer electronics, by all means AVOID Monster Cable in lieu of cables from Dayton, KnuKonceptz, AR, and a few other brands that offer good prices on excellent quality cables.

Based on? Did you just purchase some Jazz speaker wires?

Based on the fact I did research and shopping before I bought the Monster Cable connection wiring that I am using in my home. I looked at wire cross-sections, listened to components hooked up with various cabling, and read scientific reviews and found good Monster Cable (Z-series, not likely to be sold at Radio Shack, though I could be wrong) does indeed work better... especiallty when coupled with a Monster Power line conditioner.

Believe what you will... the science is there, and the results.

I'm afraid the science isn't there and never has been at least not valid scientific evidence. Science has proved over and over that one cannot hear the difference between zip cord and $3k speaker wire. Similar results have been found with ultra cheap interconnnects and very expensive cables. MIT cables add some LCR circuits to alter the sound, so a difference can certainly be heard, but they are an exception.

I can't wait for skin effect to get brought up by a monster supporter.

The results you speak of, if you are referring to the sound you hear, the mind is powerful but easily swayed.

My stance is based not in "belief" but in the scientific evidence. Belief comes into play when you start hearing better imaging, cleaner sound, more spacious soundstage, etc.

Now, I'm not trying to be mean or rub it in, and if you are happy with what you are hearing, I cannot criticize that. I will, however, not allow your claims to go unchallenged. Again, I don't want people to spend money unnecessarily.

I think we'll agree to disagree. I'll just ask everyone to do their own individual research when buying.

I'm going to step in and say the only Monster Cable that's proven itself to me is for Powered Subwoofers or Digital Signal. I ran Monster Cable to all of my Surround Speakers and I can't say it gave me anything with lower bass, but I can say it did in fact have a higher upper end frequency response than solid copper.

I have no idea if the shield that Mosnter speaker wire is wrapped in really works or not.. I won't guess and say that it does..but I'm a down to Earth person and Monster gives me better sound for my system.

Do a real double blind test if you ever have the opportunity. You will not be able to bear out your current perceptions. I'm not saying your not hearing differences, but I am saying they aren't there and you are creating them in your mind.
