this is about my zx2. i recently installed the 4-2-1 hotshot header. so i have no cat, no resonator, stock pipe and a obx 5'' round with a 4'' tip muffler. now, it is really raspy like around 3-4k. so im wondering since im getting the trubendz 2.25'' kit with the magnaflow and a 4'' tip, should i or should i not get it with the resonator if i want to eliminate the rasp yet keep the low, deep tone? also, how will a high flow cat make it sound? thanks for the replies

Get a resonator put on and you won't ahve that raspy sound. When I put my Edelbrock header on my mystique I had a terrible raspy/buzzing sound (my car sounded like a civic with a cheap exhaust). I only had the header with the high-flow cat and the 2.5inch exhaust piping, once I put the resonator in it eliminated the raspy/buzzing sound I was having and now the car just sounds awesome. The funny thing is 25min after I got the car out of the exhaust shop when it didn't have the resonator my mom got so annoyed wiht how the car sounded she offered to pay for the resonator just so she didn't have to hear the car sound like that, and we all know we should listen to what our parents say  Aaron

To get a deep tone and no rasp you will need a resonator and a muffler in the back....only way....TRUST ME!

I know a guy with a hotshot on his zx2. He had some exhaust but said he was gonna try to use the hotshot exhaust to get a better sound. I haven't talked to him in a while but if I see him again (well see him parked) I'll find out what he did.

thanks. yea i think i will buy the kit with the resonator. it should sound deeper with the bigger pipe right? on my first 4 cyl contour all i had was an apexi muffler with a 4'' tip and removed resonator and it sounded deep and bada$$ so i kind of want the same sound.
