I believe Sam though... He's just insane... err... The extra 100 ponies help add credibility too...
Closed track, professional driver got 143-144mph from a stock 98-99 SVT So add maybe a couple more mph for the most moded N/A SVT and it's maybe 150mph actual speed.
The speedo lies... It's just that simple.
Look at the speedo for your redline shifts once. 3rd to 4th and 4th to 5th. It's always above what the actual gearing would indicate.
RPM = Final Drive x 336 x MPH / Tire Diameter
Physics won't lie to you...
As for the numbers.
Those were an average of peoples reports of actual (via gps or obd-II) vs indicated in a few long threads a while ago. I personally think OBD-II under rates the actual speed myself as it is always noticeaby below what gearing would indicate
I think mine are likely a little more skewed do to the worn KDW's. (like I said
maybe half tread left on the fronts - time to rotate again

)
I still think they never changed the gear factor when they switched to the slightly smaller 215/50 vs the 205/55??? The larger tires always seem to be closer to actual across the board. 225/50's are in my future next spring...
