I'm trying to just move the alternator out of the way so I can remove the front cover on a '95 2.5L w/ATX.

Now with all of the wiring off, and all of the bolts off, you will need to use the 24" extension and position it on one of the ears of the alt and tap the alt out of the bracket. Mine was in nice and tight, so hopefully this won't need to be done.
Ah-ha! Mine must be in really tight also - can't even budge it. Should I be able to pry just the upper ear of the alt. out of the alt.bracket and pivot the alt. on the lower alt.bolt? (Hopefully that will give me enough room to get on the upper alt-bracket to engine bolt so I can move the alt.bracket out of the way.)
