The world's fastest supercomputer, The Earth Simulator in Yokohama Japan, can compute 35.86 teraflops. (tera= 10,000,000,000,000) (flops= floating point operations per second)
In 2005 testing will begin on the Sandia Supercomputer. With all of the new technology it should be capable of around 100 teraflops.
The human brain is capable of 10,000 teraflops. Further proof that computers are not taking over the world.
