You forget one thing in this statement Dan. On most vehicles this would be true except for our cars. The reason being is that if you can't put the power to the ground in the first place all a higher number gear will do for you is to break traction even easier and thereby slowing your accleration. This is the reason I am switching to the Zetec final drive on my project car. I just got done having a good discussion on this topic with Bnoon who was kind enough to set me straight! So efectively I've actually enhanced acceleration characteritics and top end both on my car. Hmm, can anyone say 170 MPH contour here we come?
