Wow, now this is something I never thought I'd see happen. But the benefits of this could be great, 2-way a sprint or nextel customer, woo...

So are our benefits from over supply going to come to a close? AT&T & Cing joining as well. This is not going to be good in the future IMO.

i wonder when anti-trust legislation will try to break these new mergers? (cingular/att & nextel/sprint)

still got good ol verizon. The only service that works out in the thriving metropolise of Alfred NY.

Right now I can think of many great things for consumers with these companies coming together. That being said, I'm glad I have sprint. I hope we can all two way within the sprint/nextel network!

i don't know about nextels coverage area but with any luck this will expand sprints area without adversly effecting the call. i have sprint and i like it except when i travel.

Ah, anyone remember when Verizon was formed? I do, since at the time I was with PrimeCo.  Verizon is nothing more than a merger between Bell Atlantic, Airtouch, GTE and PrimeCo.
I'm hoping this will simply result in better service coverage, and more people I can 2-way via my Nat'l PTT plan.

wow, couldnt be more true. i had spring, never had service. it sucked. g/f has nextel, calls are dropped all the time! i cant image a little of both!
now i have att/cingular. service is awesome.
