Anyone use this. it looks pretty nice, i just installed it on my laptop, and its free from redhat. I downloaded the dvd.iso file which was aprox 3gbs. and installed it. Installing was farily easy though lengthy. It takes about 2.9gbs of space. But i did however have some questions for those who have used it. I can't seem to find a place where i can check system status. like my processor information or ram. I found it earlier but seem to find it now.

I tried it but at the time they were switching RedHat from free to corperate, and there was no installation setup for people with SATA drives.

We run it on our webserver here at work. Unfortunately "work" spans two buildings across campus from each other, and I'm in the other building so I can't log into the desktop and look for you.
As an "enthusiast" Linux user (7+ years) I like some of what Red Hat's done with their distro, including what they've done with Fedora, but not enough to use it on my own machines. If you ever get advanced enough to the point that you want to try some stronger whiskey, install Debian or Gentoo. They'll put hair on your chest

There is just so many different linux os's out that i found this one, and heard it was a easy install and runs very smooth so i installed it. Not sure if it supports sata drives. I would imagine so it supoorts using a pendrive as a boot drive.

If you're just cutting your teeth on Linux, Fedora is a very good choice, as are distributions like Mandrake and SuSE. If you become serious about getting into the blood 'n' guts of Linux, however, you may find Fedora doesn't fit the bill. Just something to consider down the road.
Also, if you're considering migrating away from Windows and towards Linux as your day-to-day OS, you should think about joining your local Linux users' group. They operate much like CEG with meets and online discussion, and can help you with problems (or at least point you in the right direction).

So how can I reset my display settings, or rather reconfigure them. I upgraded to tha latest core on my laptop, and now, when it loads the gui it doesn't show up anymore. I really don't want to spend 50 minutes installing fedora.

I would like to convert over to using linux but at this time, I would either need mac os, or a copy of windows to run photoshop, dreamweaver, and Wow. I can't seem to find the processor info, i dont ahve any of those folders. i am doing a search but nothing yet.

All of the ways I know of to play Windows games on Linux don't work very well. Being the computer geek I am I have one machine for Linux and one for Windows to play games, but you'll do just fine dual-booting the two on one computer.
