i thought directly behind the seat (if there was a secure point on the rear tray behind the passenger seats), so the staps are horizontal, not vertical.

at no more than a 45* down angle. those would compress your spine in a frontal crash, a lot. basically as soon as you hit you go forward, the belts pull back, and start to push down until they hit the seat, whenever the seat collapses so does your back. goodnight.
