I have a feeling that you didn't get it new and that it wasn't well cared for before you got it. Without reasonable car, any car can become a piece of junk.

I take good care of mine. It has 200,000 miles on it and still performas great. I plan to try to keep it until 300,000 miles and then see if I still like it. It is too bad that yours didn't have similar care.

Actually, I had friends that got their 96 Contour straight off the truck.....they didn't even have time to process the car in before David told them he wanted it. That turned out to be his big mistake because he 96 he got basically had the same problems the newbie is complaining about, but David didn't stand for it. He wound up getting Ford to pay their bank loan, take the car back, PLUS all the payments they had made on it. They got a little ove $9k in their pockets when all was said and done. Then they traded in their Jeep for a minivan.
This sounds like what OhmyGod needed to do. If they bought it brand new and had all those problems, they could have had Ford declare it a lemon and they would have gotten their money back.
Good thing is, having the one lemon did not turn David off of Contours though. He loved mine and constantly begging me to let him drive it. Then again, mine's a better model. I do believe their Contour was only a Zetec though.
