This area gets more traffic than the Wheel/Tire forum, so please keep the post here for a day or two before you move it - PLEASE!

I'm thinking about getting a set & I was wondering about tires...

The offset is a whopping 49.5 on the 17" wheels. Will I be able to fit 225/45-17 tires without rubbing on the INSIDE? With that offset, I'm sure fenders will be cleared just fine. I really don't know how much room there is to work with on the inside, so I had to ask before dumping money into them.

Must be that jumbly-wumbly thing happening again.

I'm about to put 215-45-17s on my st200 wheels tomorrow. I was told from fellow CEGers that 225's will also fit just fine, no rubbing. 215-45 is the most appropriate size to go with as it is stock on the st200.

Bingo on all counts.

Rememeber that stock sport rims come with 205's so 225 even if it did rub, would be minor. And let us owners know what tyre you plan on getting

Here are the tires I wanna get.

BFGoodrich g-Force Sport (Ultra High Performance Summer)

I haven't been able to find better reviews/ratings on a tire in this price range ($99 each). It's also quiet & comfortable for the profile, that was important to me.

Feedback please...

Just put on the Continental Extreme Contacts, 215-45-17, performance all seasons:

and so far I am very impressed. I'll post a full review in a little while after I have some more experience with them, but some initial thoughts are:

- They look really nice on the ST200 rims on the SVT
- Handling is dramatically improved over my old, hard, worn BFG 16"s
- Noisier on the highway
- Understandably stiffer ride with the low profile tires
- Steering seems more sensitive, but tramlining is a little more pronounced

So far, highly recommended... More to come, with pics...

He's wanting a summer tire, not an all-season. Huuuuuge difference no matter how good the all-season.

Yeah, I know. Cris'pus was asking about the tires I got... If I had the $$ I'd do the winter/sumer tire thing also, that is the best way to go.

Move to West Palm, no need for winter tires there!
