And the 500 is already here.
Ford will replace the Taurus with two cars, one a little larger and one a little smaller. The 500 is larger and the Fusion is a little smaller, perhaps closer in size (but still bigger than) the Contour.

So far I'm liking the Taurus, but when I get back into the Mystique, I get a grin all over my face. The taurus duratec seems strong at 60 + mph, but I still like the zetec mtx at 0-60.

Oh not all Buicks are bad My grandfather owns the Roadmaster, such a smooth ride and very confortable and big, and a powerful V8 5.7L Engine with RWD!

Actually, I came close to buying a Mercury Grand Marquis......big and smooth. Kinda like an ocean liner. The gas mileage was a detractant on that one. I think it was rated at 18 & 25, and the guy selling it said he was averaging 18.7 in mixed driving. Not bad, considering the size of the car, but still quite expensive, considering that I drive about 30k per year. I think the GM products probably get better mileage. I've heard of people with the big Chevy's getting over 30 on the highway.

Well, I just keep getting bigger and bigger.........or maybe I'm getting older and older. A couple of weeks ago I bought a Crown Victoria LX. Talk about being different from the contour and mystique.......Each one has its own unique feel and response. So far I'm loving the crown vic when I'm cruising down the interstate. I'm getting about 22-26 mpg's, which isn't bad for a big big boat. It's quiet, and smooth, but not very responsive to the steering wheel. Good acceleration though, for a big car.

Compared to 90% of trucks out there, a Crown Vic is a compact car. It is underrated since most of car world is brainwashed into thinking if it's not a FWD unibody, it's obsolete.
A Vic is certainly more "efficient" than driving an Expedition just to get a bag of snacks at 7-11.

Hey, if I buy American again, it will most likely be Buick, I've been looking pretty closely at the new LaCrosse. I value quietness very highly in a car, since I drive 100 miles a day (never using the radio), so a comfy quiet safe car is a big plus with me. And yeah, I'm already a member of AARP, so I'm already in the old fuddy duddy club!!!
