Tasteful mods certainly add to resale, but they dont add their full value.

You're telling me that a turbo'd SVT isn't worth a dime more than a non-turbo'd?

But a turbo that costs 20k to build wont bring 20k in return...

Didn't see this post until after I posted in "common Interest."

Man, I want this car bad! I am this close to hitting the "buy it now button" tonight. If I bid, how high should I sensibly go?

The worst thing, the very worst thing is that I am going to Cleveland OH for New Years with my parents and siblings. I could buy this thing, pick it up during the trip and drive it home to VA (increasing the recorded mileage by half again).

My 99 SVT has the spoiler and a brake light on the package tray.

This post got me thinking, so I went out and checked my original window sticker. Tada.... no spoiler listed. According to the friend of mine that I bought the car from, the original owner that he bought the car from worked at the ford dealership, so original owner must have had it added after the sale I guess.

My 2 cents.

As far as this sale goes, like all the others said, I would keep in mind the old saying about something that seems to good to be true probably is.

I definately would be skittish of puchasing this car.

Don't waste your money. No one really knows anything about this car, and for that kind of change it's really a gamble. If you really want a CSVT, go find a mid-mileage one for well under 10k, do the 3.0L swap for a thousand dollars, and call it a day. Won't be as nice, but at least someone will have paid the depreciation for you...

Does the car include a warranty since the 3.0L was swapped in? Granted it was done by a dealer, but it honestly doesn't matter because putting an engine in a car that wasn't there when it rolled off the line is automatic assumption for greater risk of failure, no matter who does it.
