My guess is that people who are injured or lose loved ones due to "drug driving" might care; as should the rest of us on the roads who are at risk of the same fate.

To Eternalone's point: I agree - either there wasn't enough detail in that report or there simply hasn't been enough research to make finite conclusions - but it is likely not fair to make a direct comparison between the effects of drugs on drivers vs. that of alcohol.

On the other hand, I think fundamentally we can agree that driving under the direct influence of drugs is not a good thing in the same way as driving under the influence of alcohol is not; however, for all we know driving under the influence of OTC drugs may pose an even bigger problem.

In any event, this kind of research is long overdue IMO.
