I've had my 'tour for 3 months. The trunk stays open when it's up, but somtimes it don't pop open and stays locked. I have to go back and fourth 3-4 times between cabin and trunk until I can open it (or just use the key - but that sucks too).

Will new trunk struts fix this - what do they cost?

If your talking about it not opening until you pull the interior release several times, but always working with the key, I have a fix for you. Trunk fix

I have that Fix. I don't know if I have the upgraded shocks, but I do know this Contour Trunk is HEAVY, esp noticable when someone thinks they need to slam it shut .

I recommend the spring. Costa few bucks from the dealer and always pops open ('cept when it freezes).

Fomoco, does your remote release work? If not, then read this string.
