HEH... Heavy?!?! One of my 1st cars was an 81 Caddy Coupe Deville with the 5th tire thing on the trunk complete with chrome wire (pimpin), the struts didn't work on it, and DAMN was that thing heavy! We used a broom handle to keep it open.

Come to think of it, even with it weighing that much, never had a problem with the power release, I could always go out and just heave it up after pushing it. But the wieght probably killed the power decklid pulldown, I ripped apart the motor and the gears were all cracked.
