Just because Ford came out with an SVT model of the Contour, that doesnt mean that other Contours are the ones that should be getting laughed at just because they arent SVTs. I would take a non-SVT Contour any day.
But yeah, so many people know nothing about the car and decide to make fun of it from the little past knowledge they have of it. Either from seeing them and thinking its just a stupid little sedan or because they hear Ford and automatically start hating. Once they take a look at the car for themselves or actually go for a ride in it, they love it. I know so many people that have laughed at my car when they heard Contour but once they ride in it, they get out of the car convinced they are going to go find one for themselves and buy it immediately. When I asked my best friend to go look at a Contour for sale with me, he just laughed hysterically. Once we rode it in, he wanted to drive it everytime we went somewhere after I bought it. I got my other friend to buy an SVT when he was going for something like an Integra and now he wouldn't get rid of it for the world.
