I hope she is charged with 3 counts of attempted murder, endangering the welfare of a minor, and any other charges they can tack on. Ah I see they got the 3 murder charges, and she is being defended by a public defender! Ah hahahaahaha!! BURN IN HELL [censored].

Woman Allegedly Ran Over Teens With SUV

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. (Dec. 6) - A woman ran over two teenage brothers after they accidentally hit her sport utility vehicle with a golf ball they were bouncing in a parking lot, officials said. One of the boys suffered life-threatening injuries.

"After she ran them down, she got out of the car and lit a cigarette like a movie star."-Russell McPhee

The 14- and 16-year-old boys were bouncing the golf ball in a shopping center parking lot Sunday afternoon when it went astray and struck the SUV driven by 47-year-old Kathy Feaganes Allen, sheriff's Deputy Greg Suchy said.

No damage was done, and the boys apologized and began to walk away, Suchy said. Allen started to drive away, but suddenly made a U-turn, ran over a median and struck the teens before knocking over a light pole, Suchy said.

She then allegedly went after a third brother, but did not hit him. A witness said that after the SUV came to rest, Allen got out of the car and smoked a cigarette with the boys lying on the ground in pain.

"She charged them. This was the most deliberate act," witness Russell McPhee said. "After she ran them down, she got out of the car and lit a cigarette like a movie star."

Isiah Grayer, 14, was in critical condition Monday. His 16-year-old stepbrother, Justin Marshman, was treated for non-life threatening injuries.

A judge ordered Allen held without bail Monday on three counts of attempted murder. She is being represented by the St. Johns County Public Defender's Office, which did not immediately return a call seeking comment.

A similar incident happened a couple years ago. Socialite Lizzy Grubman got mad when she was told she couldn't park her SUV in front of some place and intentionally backed over some people. What is it with crazy broads and SUV's?

Hahaha...."When SUVs Strike Back!". I'm sure many of you realize when people do stupid things in SUVs (running into buildings, people, etc.) that the news stories are written to make it sound like the SUV had a mind of its own when it happened. This SUV channeled its anger through its owner and now the owner is in deep [censored].

Woman Accused Of Running Down Teens: 'I'm Mentally Ill'

UPDATED: 6:50 PM EST December 6, 2004

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. -- A St. Augustine woman charged with attempted murder after she allegedly ran down two brothers and tried to hit a third Sunday afternoon is being held without bail on charges of attempted murder.

Kathy Evans makes a first appearance on attempted murder charges Monday morning.

Kathy Allen, 47, was arrested after witnesses saw her drive her SUV into the two boys after a golf ball they were playing with struck her vehicle. One of those teens remains in critical condition.

According to the St. Johns County Sheriff's Office, Isiah Grayer, 13, and 16-year-old twins Justin and Jamel Marshman, were bouncing a golf ball in a parking lot on State Road 16 about 2:45 p.m. when it got away from them and hit Allen's Chevrolet Blazer.

Authorities said there was no damage to the vehicle, and the brothers went over to apologize, then turned to walk away.

According to witnesses, Allen started driving to the other side of the parking lot, then accelerated toward the boys.

"She did a purposeful U-turn and started to accelerate toward the boys," St. Johns County Deputy Ricky Domingo said.

Police said she drove over several curbs and through landscaping to hit the two boys and knocked down a light pole. Police said she then turned her SUV toward the third brother, but the vehicle got stuck in drainage ditch and he was able to run away.

"The lady came back around, charging us. I ran one way, my two brothers ran the other way," Jamel Marshman told Channel 4's Hetal Gandhi Monday. "I'm shocked and surprised why she would do it. That's not even normal."

Grayer was flown to Shands-Jacksonville Medical Center, where he was reported in critical condition with head injuries. Justin Marshman was initially taken to Flagler Hospital, then transferred to Shands, where he was released Monday. Jamel Marshman was not injured, but he said he would stay by his brother's side at the hospital.

The boys' family is angry and wants Allen to serve time.

"She deliberately tried to kill my grandkids," said Rebecca Lofton. "Justice needs to be served. If I ran over her grandkids where would I be?"

Allen's mother, Betty Newell, rushed up from Melbourne when she heard. She said she can't believe Allen would do sucha thing.

"I don't know what happened to her," said Newell. "She's a wonderful person, she's a churchgoing person."

At her first appearance Monday morning, Allen told the judge, "I'm mentally ill." The judge ordered her held without bond on the attempted murder charges, and told her that if Grayer were to die, the charges would be upgraded.

Along with witness statements, investigators found acceleration marks on the road. Allen was questioned at the scene Sunday, then arrested.

"The lady was smoking a cigarette, thinking nothing had happened," Jamel Marshman said. "I asked her why she hit us for. She said we threw a rock at her. I know we didn't throw a rock; I told her it was a golf ball."

"I saw her just charge right at him. It was insane. I've never seen something as cold and calculated at that. She just wanted to hit them," witness Russell McPee said.

Allen is married and has a teenage daughter. Her family said this is completely unlike her.

"If the kids were throwing rocks at her, she probably felt like anybody else would," Newell said. "She would never hurt anything."

Police said Allen has no criminal record. They took blood samples from Allen at the scene to see if drugs or alcohol contributed to her alleged actions.

That might be funny if the fact that it was an SUV actually had anything to do with the incident.
