Probably & definitely.
I really don't see a reason to dyno it since I know the local dyno reads on the low end of the scale. I would only dyno it for bragging rights so what's the point then???
"Based on trap speed" it should beat Any previously dyno'd 3L right... Then again I know the top one was run on a high reading dyno so again it's like comparing apples to oranges. You know the one that trapped 98.9 in an SVT and then 99.4 in a lighter Cougar.
I will go back to the track next spring when it opens. I'll make sure to actually practice this time so the axles don't whine about it so much.
Would be nice if everyone could just make it to a big meet and dyno & run against each other at the same time. There would be no "conversion factor" necessary then.

I thought that there was a lot of head work involved to get the oval port to fight right. I want to get the most power for my money cause I will be on kind of a tight budget as far as what I can spend on the project. So if you could help and correct me I would appreciate it.
Just as a FYI I'm hoping to offer a very low cost service option for getting oval ports to bolt right up to split ports. We should have everything finalzyed by the end of the month.
I offer PnP Heads for all durtec's details at PnPheads.com or jesse@pnpheads.com for details.

Im in pretty much the same boat.. Starting a 3L swap that is. The only thing im unsure about is the filling and relocation of the injector hole in the Oval port head. If somebody knows what im talking about an explination would be apprciated.

Now where could we find a BIG meet? And one with a dyno, and maybe even a 1/4 mile track event? Hmmmmm, maybe HERE!

There is a difference between having big meat and "wanting" big meat right Ryan.
They don't call you guys Jar Heads for nothing...
Could be worse I suppose. You could be a "Grunt"
We won't describe that on this family site...
I suppose I should be an equal opportunity enforcer.
One could always be NAVY because you know they like to bunk 8 guys in a 6 x 6 room for 10 months at a time...

Demonsvt's site is where i first heard of filling the injector hole, but Im just not clear as to why the hole has to be filled in the first place? Is it in a different location than the split port? Is it redrilled in the same spot after the porting process is finished? Did he move the injector location to fit different injectors or improve performance in some way?
I may be missing something really simple but thats more of what i meant in my question

Yes.
The split port LIM has the injector boss on the primary side.
The oval port uses a center injector boss.
To use one with the other you have to cut offset injector ramps in the head inlets. You also have to fill the existing center ramps or you will have 6 large intake leaks.
As for performance. It's a good as your design is for optimum fuel atomization and dispersion. You can do it from crude cutouts to using flow design theory to dictate your overall port shape.
