Hey, Before I put any of my subs or amp in I want to get some of the basics covered. I am going to be running a 2400 watt max amp in my car. ALl of the grounds are stock. Should I upgrade them?? What else should i do.. get a cap?? I dont want to kill my altinator by putting alot of stress on it (been there with the beretta). The car has 61K on the original alt too. Thanks Bill

Bill, You will be fine man. No need for a cap, and you can determine after you have it hooked up weather you need any wire upgrades. You will probably get some dimming lights but that's it. BTW... whos installing it?

LOL actually Im going to install it all ummm probably in about 2 wks or so when the package arrives. i wont get the subs from the girly til x-mas (as much as I beg still wont get em damn her ) I ran all the wires for my beretta so it should be a piece of cake. Also im going to hook up my cd changer in the glove box within a week too so that should be fun

The thing you might want to do prior to the install is find a groumet or any hole where you can run you power cable. When time comes to actually put it all in that will make it much smoother, knowing it's there. I only say this because i had a horrible time on my svt with the hole. I ended up just drilling but i was very nervous considering the cluster of wires (ie clutch cables and what not). Actually i think ATX's have an easy accessable hole that requires no drilling, could be wrong though. Anyway other then that its a breeze...

Ya thats what I heard. THats something good about my ATX vs the MTX. There is a plug like thing there where im planning on running it through. I dont know where its going to end up on the inside of the car but it should not be hard to find out.

That doesnt say much, how much rms will each speaker actually be getting? WHat size power and ground are you using? There are too many factors here. You will get dimming that is noticable but not enough to put your lights out!

You'll be fine, unless the alternator is already going on you. Like mine, when i hooked up my system my half dead alternator couldnt handle it, died and shorted out my battery on top of it all! Although i was glad it happened as easy as that, coulda been worse ya know!
