NGK TR6 stock #4177 is what I have always used.

That's the same plug a Duratec uses but the Motorcraft and Autolite lines show a different plug?

The Z in AZFS means "long travel" (~1") and the Duratec uses "short travel" plugs. That means the TR6 is ~.3" shorter in extension compared to the stock Zetec plug.

I wouldn't think the TR6 plugs would reach fully into the chamber???

Does the Zetec plug normally entend a great deal into the chamber?
If that is the fact then the shorter plug would make sense for any boosted application.

Thanks for the input. Heading to the Auto parts store to inquire if they have them. Are they colder plugs???

Thanks

The TR6 is about 5mm shorter than the stock autolite/motorcraft.
But works very well and is one heat range colder than the stock Zetec plug.

You don't want to use a shorter plug than stock on the Zetec. It's said if you use a shorter plug the cylider might not seal properly and it would be bad in the long run. I used to run a shorter plug then found out it was shorter and switched to the Motorcraft AZFS22Cs. They are the only plug I've found over the counter that fit perfectly. Copper and one step colder is perfect for a 50shot.

It depends on your setup and how good your ignition is. Without the nitrous you should be able to run stock gap, but under the juice it depends on how big a shot you run. For a 50shot, that sounds good for the time being til you can test it out. If you get a misfire then gap it to .40, but if you have to gap it more then that you should look into upgrading your ignition somehow. Maybe just new wires to start, especially if your current ones are getting on the miles. Ford Racing wires are a good buy.
