I am new to this site so I am sure this question has been presented. Both my cup holders were snapped off when I bought the car. I hear there are dealer replacements. Is that true? Are there other sources? Thanks

I take it you have a pre 98 then
yes you can get new ones from the dealer but they are going to be expensive
better bet is going to a junk yard to find them

pre 98 holders suck, dont try turning with the new style holder you'll get from ford with a supersize mcd's cup, the **** thing will dump the cup, and yes it was fully up and clicked as i know someone will say

Treat anything with the care a Car is supposed to get
and those cup holders will not snap.
Trust me. Open them Gently, Always, and you'll save yourself the problem later.
I agree, best bet is a junkyard.

Yes, I have a '95. The car came with broken cup holders. This car was once stolen. When I bought it, it was very reasonable and only had 67,000 miles on it. I also have a need for a right headlight lense cover. I was quoted $80.00 at one place. I tried cleaning agents, to no avail. The car also came with after-market wheel covers. Used to be you could get used wheel covers all over the place. Now, there are specialized businesses that jack up the prices and rip you off. Life used to be so simple back in the day. Like driving to a junk yard, buying a starter for your '69 Galaxie, and going outside to crawl under the car to change it. All for five dollars.

Both my cars use the later cup holder - Ebay $20 ea. at the time.

If you can't find one...here is my recommendation...from an old posting

A common complaint. The "new" style cupholders are available from Ford for 1998 and up Contours and Mystiques. They fit into your existing cupholder, making them taller and sturdier. Part number is XS2Z-5413562-BAA from Bill Jenkins at Signature L-M.

I use the single cup/can/big gulp cup holder it can be found in an SE or Cougar I believe. I got mine from a fellow CEG'er in Germany....(now to find the damn trim for it)
