Here is the vacuum diagram for it:

According to the ECU wiring diagram it also appears to have Intake Manifold Communication Controll (IMCC)?

The aluminum 3.0L Mazda MPV and 3.0L Mondeo ST220 intakes are not the same. If you look at those pictures a little closer, you'll see some of the differences. On the Mazda MPV intake, you'll see a little circular black plastic thing sticking out of the passenger side of the intake. That's the IMCC and actuator. It's a valve that changes the airflow. Mondeo ST220 intake does not have this. You can also see that the idle air bypass locations near the throttle body are different.

Here is some more about the IMCC

Theory Operation

The Intake Manifold Communication Control (IMCC) actuator in the intake manifold controls the length of intake air path, depending upon engine RPM. With engine speed less than 3750 RPM, the IMCC actuator is energized, improving torque output. At more than 3750 RPM, the IMCC actuator is de-energized, increasing airflow while improving high RPM performance. The PCM monitors the IMCC actuator at all times.

During wide open throttle, Wide Open Throttle A/C Cut-Off (WAC) circuit, interrupts power to the A/C compressor clutch. The A/C clutch remains off for about 3 seconds after returning from Wide Open Throttle (WOT).

-- In other words, it looks easier to remove and dupe than the IMRC.

I have always wondered why my 99 aluminum semi-split port 3.0L upper intake at the opposite end at this blank plate bolted onto it. Appears not the first time Ford has used this as the IMCC is shaped identical to the blank plate on my 99.

Plastic UIM is already smooth as glass, less weight, disperses heat better. Only benefit would be porting.

Yeah, and WAY too SMALL. Porting doesn't make the runners larger in diameter all the way through like extrude hone can.
