I haven't seen it mentioned here, but I've stumbled across it. The 01+ Tribute/Escape/6/Taurus 3.0L all have that plastic upper intake. The odd ball seems to be the 02 MPV 3.0L which appears to have an aluminum oval-port intake. Take a peek: Now take another look, this is a Ford Sport Technologies (Duratec) 3.0L in the rear of the kit car, K-1 Attack: Looks to be the same intake and Ford rates the ST 3.0L for that kit at 240 BHP and meets EURO-4 emissions. Has anyone gotten a chance to toy around with this intake or seen it before?

Hmm interesting. The only alum. intakes I knew of are on the Mondeo. Lots of $$ for one of those. I'd guess the MPV isn't the same one. Anyone have one I'd be happy to dyno test.

MPVs...hmm, for some reason I seem to recall hearing that they had no precats, either. Interesting implementation.

At the very least, it should be a better option for the folks running the complete Taurus/Escape 3.0, being that it could be ported or even extrude honed.

Plastic UIM is already smooth as glass, less weight, disperses heat better. Only benefit would be porting.
