Yes, that's the info I've been reading plus out of a couple books I have. I think that I understand the process now.

The poster who said that he hooked up a switch and read the codes while sitting in the pilot seat sounds like maybe he was reading the flashes of the CEL.

I wonder how he hooked that system up?

More comfortable than standing outside in the snow.....

That's exactly how it is done.

Turn key off. Insert jumper in test connector. Go sit in driver's seat and watch the CEL. Turn key to RUN and start counting.

That actually sounds like the simpliest way to read the codes. I have to get out there and do it.
