Mine does it all the time if it's below freezing (I'm in MT, so a lot). I can start the car, let it sit just fine with no moosing, if I turn on the defrost (which uses the A/C), it will moose with only cure is to rev the engine.
Also if it's just sitting there minding it's own business and I barely turn the steering wheel, it'll moose until I tap the gas.
Seems to be any load on the engine while it's cold causes it.
I have yet to do the copper plug thing, mostly becuase I forget  , but I'm gonna do it.
