So the story starts last week when I went to change my oil. I had my oil chnaged at Fair Oaks Ford in Naperville and they torqued the drain plug so tight I couldnt get the thing to budge and didnt want to take the chance of stripping it on the day before Thanksgiving and being screwed. So, I took it back to Fair Oaks Ford yesterday....this is were I start to get pissed! They tell me they cant get my car on any of the lifts because it sits to low (car has never been lowered) other than having 17's on it. After just under 2 hours I get called to the cashier because my car is finally done and the girl tells me that my oil change will be $57 and some change. I about fall over! I take the bill out to the service department and they tell me they had to jack it up by hand so they charged me an extra $35. After arguing with this moron I finally got the Asst. Service Mgr. who actually was helpful...he took $13 bucks off of the bill. So, I payed $44 for a F#@*in oil change because they were incompetent the first time and torqued the drain plug to tight months ago! All in all I am just venting and warning anyone in the area what an ordeal it is to deal with their service department and to consider that if they consider Fair Oaks for any work.

Never had an issue or heard of anyone with an issue with an SVT Contour getting on any lifts.

That is an absolute joke. Take that work order and go up the chain of command until you get your money back. When I worked for Acura, we would have to get to guys to lift up the NSX's onto a floor jack, because the lift arms would never fit.

If you signed to have your oil changed for 19.99 or whatever, that all u should pay. So I say find the service manager, then the GM, then the owner if you have too.

Some dealers think they are entitled to charge more $$ for anything including toilet paper used by the techs.

Victor Ford has been great for parts and service. But then again, that's up in Wauconda. Hope you get a refund!

reminds me of a time I went to duthler ford in GR and told them to replace my warped front right rotor (I knew it was toast) I would have done it myself but it was finals week and I was getting my seized parking brake cable replaced at the same time.
next thing I know they try to charge me $50 for turning my toasted rotor even though they REPLACED IT with a new one!!
I chewed them out because:
1) I said it was bad, and told them just to REPLACE IT.. never to TURN IT!! I knew it was unfixable in the first place.
2) I could have bought a new rotor and put it on myself for cheaper than their failed repair attempt.

... I got a full refund.
