Pre- '98 Zetec throttle body, optimized. (NOTE: pre- '98's are more expensive because they have more material to remove than the post- '98's do.)

$80 shipped ($80 Refundable Core charge)

Some of the engine mount points are a little different, nothing a custom mount couldn't solve.
The oil pan on the SVT Zetec will not fit in the oil pan area of the Contour, so the Contour oil pan would need to be made to fit.
The trans is nothing similiar and will require ALOT of modding to fit and mount.

The price/HP ratio is crap.
Get an intake ,exhaust, header, cams, udp, and then a tuned chip and you'll be putting out as much HP and more TQ for less money.

I would think the trannie wouldnt fit, itsnt it a Getrag transmission? The same kind they use in the mini cooper?

Would a post 97 throttle body fit onto a Pre98 intake manifold? because I dont plan to have my car out of commission for a week. So I would plan to buy a throttle body out of a junk yard and send it to be optimised.

I am not sure but I think with tthe core deposit you are sent a tb that is optimized and then you are suppose to send yours back after you switch them, that way you have no down time and Buckshot doesn't have to buy new or get used tb's all the time

I think the Focus SVT head will bolt on to our blocks. That might allow a "hybrid" setup, having a SVTF head with a base Zetec block. It wouldn't be as good as the Ford Racing head, but it would be way cheaper and would be a good value for the money if you can find one at a salvage yard used.

The biggest problem then would be the intake VCT, but I think it's just the same as our exhaust VCT so it might be possible to work it with just swapping the wiring for our setups if you have the VCT zetec. Otherwise you could just get the standard exhaust cam VCT eliminator and use it on the intake instead.

If you could find a used SVTF head for a few hundred, plus another 4-500 for a racing header, then you could get an easy 145whp for under $1k. Theoretically.
