Mix PC-Nazism, far right-wing conservative mandates along with the typical "liberalization" that numerous subjects have been subjected to and it's no damn wonder a fair number of kids have no more than a clue about ANY subject.

Yes, good teachers are hard to come by, but so is good teaching material. NOTHING excuses the quality of material that has been subjected to both liberal and conservative "agendas" to push political leanings in public education.

It seems that some radical elements on both sides of the argument feel the need to shine the other in the most horrid light possible, which does neither justice and only serves to further confuse and founder the goal of an education: learning. Both abstinence and sexual protection should be taught fairly, as doing anything less isn't treating the subject with dignity and intelligence.

This goes far beyond this particular topic, as creationism vs. evolutionism keeps cropping up in the news. Both should see the light of day in a classroom, as both hold scientific and cultural importance. The problem is finding material and a teacher that can and WILL pay each due dilligence. Too few seem to hold the ability to be respectful and informative towards both sides of the topic.
