That's fine, they certainly aren't for everyone.

Subjective, but understandable.

the seats trash,

Which seats are you referring to? Because several of the last gen SN95's had what I consider to be excellent seats. The Bullitt, 01 Cobra, Mach 1, and 03+ Cobra all had excellent seats. Even my 94 Cobra seats are quite good for a production car of that vintage. Granted, I will give you that other versions of the mustang have had some of the worst seats known to man.

the shifter unwieldly

That's what happens when you are actually putting torque through the trans, it has to be stronger. Try rowing a Viper gearbox sometime. I will admit, there is some room for improvement, which was done for the new S197 mustang . . .

and the build quality horrendous.

Ok, I'll totally give you this one, and in more ways than you know. I am so glad Dearborn assembly was immediately torn down when SN95 production ceased.

Lets not forget the piss-poor handling.

This one is where you are wrong. While an SN95 may not be perfect in the handling dept., it certainly is no slouch. I recall several years ago, Sport Compact Car did an article called "Unlikely Contenders" or something like that. They pitted a STOCK 99 or 00 Mustang GT against an Acura Integra Type R. The magazine did track comparisons and the like, and had to work VERY VERY hard to bring thier favorite car out on top, by changing up the rules several times. Its actually a pretty amusing article.

And need I mention our Mustang Cobra that we run in Grand Am Cup, which, with STOCK suspension geometry, was able to push its way to 6th in the overall championship against Porsche 911's and Nissan 350Z's and Caddy CTS-V's, etc.
And the "power argument" doesn't apply to GAC, because engine mods are heavily regulated by the series.

Mustangs have always been mass produced and not a niche car, but to me, that adds to there lack of personality.

Mustang has easily more personality than the vast majority of cars ever built. You want to try a cool car, that has excellent performance, and low production but zero personality? Drive an M3.

Don't take it so personally. It's one mans opinion.

It's ok, everyone is entitled to be wrong if they wish

Keep in mind that all this discussion centers around the OLD Mustang, and not the now current model. The new car is vastly improved in all regards.
