I just tried to optimize my TB on a 2000 SVT. I was following the instructions given by Scott Burton (July 2001). THe thing is he mentioned that butterfly was mounted to a half-circle on the throttle shaft. My shaft is a full cirle with a slot in it for the butterfly. So I rounded off the screws and polished everything. So does anybody else have this TB shaft and what did you do? Cut half the round off to make a flat surface?

That's the standard TB design. I just filed down both upper and lower parts of the rod until it was just over the scary thin stage. Countersunk the upper and added countersunk screws. (loc-tited & peened) Knife edged the plate and the TB outter lip Smoothed the inner lip Polished everything smooth...

If so where can I find out more info on it?(like price..etc) Do you offer core replacements so it will be easier. I'm very interested in getting this done...I have been wanting to do it myself for quite a while but I'm afraid I just don't have the work space, time, or tools to do it. I live in an Apt! Thanks

ThanksI have it listed as an option on my powdercoating page because I don't really want to do a whole lot of them, but as an addition to powder coating it makes sense because I have to take them apart anyway. I can get cores if anyone expresses a paying need for one, also available on my powder coating page.

Ok...I checked out your website! $35 seems very reasonable for the optimization....And the $100 would be refunded as soon as you recieve my TB!
Also can you give a run down on what you actually will do to the TB? I know some ppl do it differently.
Thanks

Well, $35 in addition to doing the coating service since I'll have it apart in the first place. If someone wants to do a TB optimization by itself, I'll have to charge more. I guess I could do it for $50 by itself... I just don't want to do it on a large scale again like I did before... I had 5 in one week = to much for spare time to handle... Understand?
What is accomplished:
Throttle bar halved New screws countersunk into front side of throttle plate Rear of screws filed off flush (held in place by JB Weld) Throttle plate thinned and knife edged (knife edged new) Front bore lip opening knife edged Throttle plate bore machine surface blended Any casting flash removed Cotton wheel polished inside bore(new)

Ok well that still sounds cool! About the Ford Blue color of your powdercoating, would it somewhat match the blue hoses the BAT pipe comes with? Also I'll probably want to do this in about a week, so I'll shoot you an email about the specifics. Would you be interested in doing one for me? I understand you have alot on your plate and I wouldn't expect it to be done asap, just whenever especially since I will be doing the core replacement. Just let me know

I would also be interested in an optimization and powerder coating.
So it would initially cost $185, then once you get my core back you refund the $100. Correct?
I will be sending an email shortly as well.
