Got a problem.

My amp gets power, but seemingly no signal. There are two needles on my amp that indicate the signal strength. I took my RCA's outta my car and they worked on a DVD player to TV connection. I then ran my home CD player to my amp (while it was on from my car CD player (i.e. remote wire live) and got no signal. My amp has a status light which is steady on, indicating no problems...

I pretty much thought it was either my Head Unit output, or somehow my amp's RCA input...Any advice?

might have a protected amp... Have you looked inside of it recently? If you do, do you notice any black or burned looking parts? That's a good sign it's blew up. If not, then it is probably the inputs. If either of these is the problem, the best solution (at least if you want to keep your amp) is to talk to Sergey at http://www.kbaudio.com He is a really nice guy, and their prices are damn good to get quality work done.

Thanks. I have a local electronics repair shop where I know a guy. What's confusing me is that there is a status light that indicates everything normal...I would think if it was blown it wouldn't even turn on and if the RCA inputs were broke the status light would indicate that...

the amp protection usually only indicates under/over voltage, temp, etc. They wouldn't tell you that your amp had bad inputs. The amp blowing would do that, so I am more leaning to the inputs. Take it to your friends place, and see if he can diagnose it, and see how much he would charge to fix it. If it's 100 bucks+, send it to KB, it's good warranteed work.
