Draxas.com, formerly DuratecPerformance.com, has announced they will be designing/providing camshafts for the 3.0L V6 found in the 03+ Mazda6, which as many of us know, use the same green-stripe static Ford Taurus 3.0L Duratec cams.
I figured I would share it here knowing Nikolas from Draxas/DP has a good repore here and you guys could always use a little something different from the CSVT cams or the uber expensive Cat Cams.

Don't know, Draxas has a sponsor section on another forum of mine and they haven't replied yet.

Twisted,
This is Nikolas at Draxas....
The camshafts we will be releasing soon from Crower are for the 2.3L Duratec engine, not the 3.0L Duratec V6. And even at that, these will be for the Ford version of the 2.3L Duratec, not that Mazda 2.3L with Sequential Valve Timing.
Crower doesnt think these cams will work with the Mazda designed variable cam system.

Then Crower needs to study the S-VT a bit better. It is easier for us here to think of the Sequential Valve Timing system as an electronic Roush adjustable cam sprocket. The actuator is bolted on the end of the intake cam sprocket and an oil pump referred to as the oil control valve, uses signals from the PCM to advance or retard the cam using variables such as pedal pressure, engine temp, and more. The Mazda 3.0L Duratec uses the same cams as the Ford 3.0L Duratec (Taurus).
With that stated, will there be plans into cam design for the 3.0L?

Doesnt the 4-valve cobra engine use the same sequential valve timing? Crower makes cams for that engine? -tropictour

The Cobra has no form of variable valve timing.

I am definitely all for offering Duratec V6 camshafts. I do know that Crower is going to expect Draxas to cover the costs of the tooling necessary to make blank cams, that can then be ground to the specified characteristics.
Once Crower sends me a couple sets of cams for the 2.3L Duratec, I will try to bolt a set into a Mazda3 or Mazda6. I have read up on the Mazda S-VT and it would appear as though a cam swap would be the same compared to a non S-VT equipped cylinder head. Im just wondering if the PCM is going to wig out or not or if the end of the camshafts are different on the S-VT equipped cars (the part that the valve attaches to).
