My Canon G2 camera quit working after it got rained on. I bought a Canon A75 but the A75 pictures are blurry. I was looking at the camera ratings and the Nikon D70 with lens seems like a good camera. Has anyone tested a Nikon D70? I might buy one but I'm not sure. The Nikon D70 is expensive.

I always take a lot of pictures during the holidays. My Canon A75 pictures are out of focus and blurry. I know I either want to buy a Canon G6 or a Nikon D70. Both cameras are have high prices.

something is wrong w/ your A75, I have an A80, and it produces some of the best pictures I've ever seen from a Point and shoot camera.

I have been selling Sony DSC-W1s and DSC-T1s on ebay as of lately. they are bitchin' cameras, especially the T1. its the one from the commercial with Steven Tyler in the restaurant. anyway, I am selling them for a low low price. if interested, PM me.

I agree with Rara. I have an A75 and it takes great pictures. Is the camera in a semi/manual mode and the settings are not appropriate for the specific conditions? Try full auto mode for a while. If that doesn't yield soem good pictures, exchange for another.

I just got a Canon Digital Rebel and 2 lenses, with rebates totaling $390. Great pictures. You can't beat the focus and shutter speed of an SLR!! Plus, with it being a Canon EOS, there are lenses galore to choose from.

I agree, an SLR is phenominal (usually) but most people really don't need the expanse and hassle (due to size) of an SLR.

That said, I would LOVE to have a Canon G6 and a proper set of lenses . . .

the d70 is a very nice camera - very compact for a dslr. If you pick up a digital rebel, then pick up the nikon, i guarentee you'll buy the nikon. The rebel is cheaper buy several hundred dollars, but it's plastic! canon's 10d is a little less expensive on ebay because it was released earlier than the d70. They can be had for less than $900.00. Belive me - i bought my 10d off ebay for 850 bucks - less than 6 months old and less than 1000 shots on it. A few months ago - you couldn't even buy a d70 - you were put on a waiting list.
There are alot of deals to be had if you don't mind buying used. If you plan on buying new - espesially a dslr - most pro camera stores offer a 30 day exchange policy, allowing you to upgrade or downgrade - no problems. Good luck shopping, and compare prices.
Also if you need memory cards - right now at costco 512mb cards are only $64.99 - $10.00 instant rebate. crazy!
Let us know how you made out, and post your shots here for all to see.

I'm going to visit the camera store and try out some cameras. I took this picture of a calculator with my Canon A75:

that pic looks like you were taking it with a relatively long exposure, and moved the camera during the exposure.
