There are quite a few Chrysler locations near there. The north side of 8 Mile and Mound is the Warren Truck Assembly Plant aka Dodge City (Dodge Ram and Dakota). Between 7 and 8 on Mound there is another facility but I can't remember what it is. A few miles East of there is Conner Avenue Assembly (Viper engine and final assembly). Southeast of there at Conner and Jefferson is the Jefferson North Assembly Plant (Jeep Grand Cherokee). There may be others but that is all I know.
