point is, the weak links are the pistons and where the rings are on them. The rod BEARINGS are weak links, and that has something to do with the belabored point of either lubrication, bearing clearances, etc. Who knows, who cares, I went for the forged pistons, total seal rings, and for added safety forged rods. . .I've run 18psi on 93 without audible detonation, so I figure I'm safe so far. . .the block and crank that svt produced can take all the abuse you throw at it. . .remember, the stock pistons and ring lands were created for a high CR NA car, not a FI car. . .
