Blowing out bottom-ends is a fairly common (and obviously very serious) problem that many VQ35 owners have encountered. If you're not sure what I'm referring to, simply run a search on any number of Nissan forums. Will every VQ35 blow up with a turbo on it? No. But I would certainly be worried about doing it with as many occurences of blown engines as there has been with doing much less than that.
I'm on several Nissan forums and while I've seen some of this, the instances I've seen are people that are modding pretty seriously and not bothering to upgrade the engine internals when doing so.
Honestly, anyone who throws a turbo on the VQ35, the Duratec, or any other engine that isn't purpose built for FI, is only asking for trouble sooner or later. If I were to even consider such serious modding, I'd switch over to forged engine internals. While I've not done the research (since I don't really care), I'd bet serious money my engine internals aren't forged (just as they weren't in the Duratec engine in the SVT), probably using eutectic pistons, powdered rods, etc. The SVT had a forged crank at least.
