I run an Athlon XP-mobile (2600+) in my desktop. Does 2.4ghz easy and takes less power than the desktop chips do at stock speeds.
As for video card and sound card, it really depends on what you want to do with the system. Do you want to be able to play games?
I guess for sound card, i'd say go with the Audigy 2 as was reccomended.
