Ticking from upper left of engine...if it's not a lifter or something else in the valvetrain, I'll be stunned.

Poor shift quality from CD4E. The transmission is practically new, only about 5K miles on it, maybe 10K, but it needs a CD4EJr. kit so bad I can taste it. I almost sold my car for a '96SE with MTX and more unknown problems just to get rid of the transmission issues, but it's fixable.

first i want to say that i love my csvt and never plan on selling it....that said:

-the worst shifting ford i have ever driven. the beater 84 mazda pickup i have shifts 10x better. someone mentioned the tower, so i will have to research that.
-stupid moose
-keyless entry has a range of about 1 nanometer.

the other things are nitpicky maintenance issues that i am behind on causing poor fuel economy. other than that i have no complaints

I love my mom's soon to be mine contour, see i drove an 87 volvo station wagon for a year, its quite a step up.

1. the clutch engages the last 1/4 of the way out
2. its 1/4 mile isnt under 14 like my friend's civic
3. back doors squeak
4. going to spend too much money on it
5. paint all scratched up
6. a little too high off the ground, dont know how much I want to drop it.
7. mileage better than volvo, but still low 20s high teens

other than that I love it, stock wheels are not that bad for stock, same with sound.

My list:

1. Not enough money to do mods.
2. No intercooler made for Jackson Racing S/C
3. No garage to change my o2 sensor so it will pass emissions.

Where at in Illinois? If you're near St. Louis you can drive it over to my house and I'll help you change it in my garage. I live in west St. Louis county.

I thought someone at work told me Illinois doesn't have an emissions test.

Welp...

1. I don't own a Contour anymore.

I think that about sums it all up.

To make this post worthwhile though...I'll do a rundown on my ZX2.

2. The positive battery terminal seems to have a problem staying tight. I need new bolts. It dies after a session of driving and I have to pop the hood and push it down again. It's really ghetto.

2b. It hates fuel.

2c. The CEL idiot light comes on screaming when I put in premium fuel. Then the car dies.

3. My passenger door and rear quarterpanel are all screwed to hell.

4. My driver door got scraped up.

5. Front valance is scraped up.

6. The curbs/speedbumps at college are just too Goddamned big.

7. My subs sound great, but look crappy.

8. Probably not as fast as Ross anymore.

9. Clearcoat on roof in front of moonroof is peeling.

10. I no longer have the prettiest looking ZX2 in Savannah anymore.

11. Girlfriend thinks my car is cooler than her pastel green '98 Hyundai Accent, so she's bugging me to drive all the time. Even wanders off with my car on occasion.

11b. I hate driving her Hyundai. I can propel myself to 60 faster by holding a lighter to my butt while standing on a frozen lake.

12. Girlfriend burns through a tank of gas in ten minutes.

13. Gas is so damn expensive these days.

14. I can't remember if I showered or not this morning.

15. Car could use a bath too.

16. It's got two doors. I hate having to get out so people can get in the back.

17. My driverside headlamp points at the clouds at night and I have no way to adjust it easily because the clip is broken.

18. CEG likes to piss on Escorts cuz they're smaller.

I think that about does it for now. Give me time though...I'll come up with more.

Mine is a living list. If someting breaks I fix it. Within a month, without fail, the "next" thing will break. I can never predict what will go next. This car is costing me a ton of mony to keep up with. Maby if I stop fixing things, stuff will stop breaking

Just an intermitten CEL from a cat converter that needed to be replaced by emissions recall; ford refuses to honor it. Byastards.

The coolant line that crosses in front of the engine got caught under the plastic cover, and therfore got wedged onto one of the belts I posted a while back about it, and fixed it. I make sure It doesn't rest below anything else now.

My car's paint. It's been touched up too much. Of course, pictures never show this.

Besides that, my engine and tranny are still strong >knocks on wood<

I think the ZX2 is a really fun car. It was what I first considered before I found this Contour. Still debating whether it's a better deal or not...
