Sounds kind of like my story. I bought a 95SE off of Ebay that had "blown a head gasket". I planed on dropping in one of my engines from one of my parts cars. When I picked it up it ran excellent which wouldn't be the case if it was the head gasket. Working with these cars as much as I do I started to suspect the water pump and sure enough that is all that was wrong with it. I even asked the guy that sold it to me if he checked the pump and he said the garage looked at it and said that "these engines blow head gaskets" so as far as he was concerned that was the problem. The car runs and drives excellent! That is until I hit a deer with it doing 75MPH on I-87! As a matter of fact I have the car up for sale in the classifieds if anyone is interested.
