Not if I build it. I'm a designer by profession, not an artisan.

The reason I knock the KKM (besides the imploding filter) is that it is just a MAF adapter and a filter. How does that look any better than than a large K&N and a duratecperformance adapter? Why not just buy the better performing K&N filter and separate adapter and save a few bucks?

I did replace the filter with a K & N and now I'm having a custom air box made to house it.

I've already hijacked this thread for too long so please no more. I promise I will never suggest spending large amounts of money on a car again.

Don;t worrie about your suggestions, you opinion is your opinion...and its respected...Johnny and i have had some really good conversations, and i have read a lot of Jasons posts in the past....both mean no harm and they mean it when they say thee not trying to jump down your thort.

Look, i can understand if you canot make it look "good", and i understand why you chose the KKM and a custom heat shield...You come from Vegas, the home of glitz and Glamour and artifical everyting!!! LMAO....Im just kidding...Im just trying to lighten the mood.

But seriously, i really do understand, some people like myself are not "artisticly" enhanced....but my trash can came out ok...like i said in my PM, for me its not looks right now , its for performance, because the mjority of people here like i said do not have the budget to purchase the top "quality' stuff.....I can tell your looking for both, and i respect that.

Like i said your opinions are very respected, and i hope this does not discurage you in any way form posting on this topic.

info not opinions:
KKM cons:

KKM filter has been proven to implode on modified 2.5 liter, 3 liters at the high RPM range

Cost is greater than buying seperate parts (as johnny stated)or buying KKM and bying your own filter.

KKM does not come with heat shield, i just checked there website...so you till need to buy or fabricate your own.

KKM Pros:

Well designed MAF adapter

Easy to purchase as you get one box, not 2 or 3 if you buy the parts seperatly form diffrent locations.

If theres anything else anyone wants to add feel free to...this is what i can think of off the top of my head.

I would support it like you do if it wasn;t for the KKM filter impoding on me once, then i ahd to spend another 40 or so bucks on a new K&N filter...i was not happy about that.

Its good that you ahve had good experience with them...and its not really the MAaf adapter we ahve a problem with, its the filter mainly....if they used a quality filter to begin with IMpoding would probably not be a problem....and it might be worth the 90 bucks.
But becasue of the filter issue people suggest getting everything sperate and save 20 or 30 bucks.

Lupe
