I drove a WRX and was impressed with the performance. Im just afraid of the insurance costs... and speeding ticket costs. Once you get the turbo spinning your doing 80 before you know it. Might be too much temptation for me. On the other side of the equation. If you had $15,000 and could get any car (reasonable, 4dr, 00 or newer) what would you get?

A new (if I could work the dealer over hard enough) or year-old Mazda 3s. Or I'd relax on the year and see about finding a mid-90s BMW 3 series.

Unpossible. 165 hp @ 5600 rpm & Torque (lb.-ft.) 166 lb.-ft. @ 4000 rpm. Weighing in at 2972 with 5spd.
Average mag times range from high 15s-low 16s. Real world times I've seen range from low 15s-high 15s.

In June I paid under $13k for my '99 328i with 100k miles, purchased less than 75 miles from home, in very good shape. There are bargains to be had out there...

I'd try and find a low mileage un adulterated SVT, a 2000, if possible for around $7-8K, ship it to ArizonaDynoChip and have them put on a fully tuned turbokit and Quaife for another $6K and throw on a set of Koni's and GC's for another $1k.
$15K right there and a fast and reilable 300hp 4-door performer.

Im looking for something a little more from the factory. Also my SVT was not the most reliable car. I'm looking for something that will be relatively cheap to run and take care of.

LMAO. Yeah, if you want your 0->60 times to look like everyone else's 1/4 mile times.
