Actually i just did this same mod with expanded stainless steel. You can order it from McmasterCarr, mcmaster.com just type expanded steel or steel mesh and all kinds of perforated metals will show up. I used half-hard aluminum i think u can get a 4x4 sheet of expanded aluminum for 50 bucks. you can do the oval, bottom front bumper and rear bumper with the same sheet and still have some left over maybe about 40% of it. you just need 4x4 for the long pieces.

but its nice that some one is willing to do all the cutting for you.
