I am interested. I would like to install it myself, and I would also like the mesh in black. If you could custom cut the bottom two grilles that would be great too.

I'm pretty sure it attaches somehow to the clips... although if i am wrong stazi will most likely drop in.

The grills are installed the same way your stock grills are installed. You will notice that behind the grills, there are tiny little C-Clips clamped onto the bumper flanges. You remove the C-Clips and the stock grill will slide right out. Install Stazi-Grill and put C-Clips back in place. Make sure they are clamped tight and butt it up right to the grill so they don't flex or get blown off of the flanges from wind or any other debris. The oval is pretty tough to do, as I figured I'd try it myself. Getting the front and back to lineup, without the mesh getting in the way was a nightmare.

Also, I don't believe he sells the grills in any colors. You will most likely need to paint/powdercoat them yourselves.

I can sell you the piece for the oval uncut if you want and you can try and install it yourself.

If you fugg it up, or your oval in the process, it's your responsibility.

By sending me the oval, to install the mesh in it for you, you'll be getting something you don't need to screw around with. And trust me - if you've NEVER done this mod before you'll be stunned when you pull the oval grill off the car, scratch you head and wonder "WTF do I do now?"

The rest of the pieces come precut and install EXACTLY like the stock plastic pieces.

You can have any colour you want, so long as it is silver - if you want something else, paint it or powdercoat it once you get it.

My question is are they painted silver or do they just come in a silver finish? Because the gutter gaurd gets stained really fast. If we purchase your grills as is, what type of maintenence will we need to do to keep them looked like new?

They're "as-is" stamped bright aluminum. They stay pretty shiny but over time will start to dull. You can paint them silver is you want, or use Meguires Wheel cleaner - the one for unfinished wheels, on them to remove the tarnish, every few months.

I was going to have JaguarXP make me two sets of custom S/S mesh grilles (I have two Contours). JaguarXP uses highly polished European stainless steel woven mesh made by the Jaguar OEM supplier.

It is hard to tell from the pictures, but it doesnt look like it is woven mesh in the grilles of the two cars pictured, it looks like stamped or expanded mesh. What type of mesh does Stazi use? And is it stainless steel?

I would be very interested in this group buy (for two sets) if Stazi uses a high quality S/S woven mesh like that used on Jaguar automobiles.

I guess that answers my question. I should have waited a couple of minutes before posting!

It's T6-6061 Aluminum expanded mesh, about 2mm thick, nothing like gutted guard. If you know you're Aluminum spec's you'll notice that it's the HARDEST form of Aluminum availble.

This stuff will turn your hand into french-fries before you could bend it with bare hands.
