My refference to the Stats on the Tour were about how well they crash. Most people fair well. The fact that you cracked up yours probably would have no bearing on the rates. Most of the rates are determined by people whom do statistics for a living. They follow probabilty coupled with a bunch of varibles and come up with what the odds are that these cars will be in accidents and by what age group so on and so on.
As for a sticky IMRC. With the car in neutrel turn it on and have someone rev the engine quickly to over 4000 rpm. The linkage should move. If you can determine that it is moving and doing so regularly. (sometimes they flake out intermitently.) Then it is time to look at the Precats. Is the Tour located in TO. Maybe one of us can help you test drive/look for bugs.
