Okay I have heard that you can and you can not, so can you chip a 2K SVT or can you not, and if so, is it a simple bolt in or do you have to do modifications, if you have to do modifications what do you have to do, I need a step by step, because my buddy wants to order a chip and Kurtz told him you can't chip a 2K, but other people have told me you can, so what is the deal, and where do you get the chip. Thanks for all your help.

Well I put a chip in my 2000 SE. I don't why you couldn't. Did he give them a code before they said they couldn't?

I had a Superchip fitted to my 2001 ST200. It actually lost me 10 bhp. The anti-knock (pinking) sensor, reacted to the advance timing produced by the chip and reduced the power to the engine. The chip was returned soon after.

The new style computer needs to have a jumper added to it in order to read from the port.

Superchips will do this for you, but of course that requires sending your PCM to them or doing it yourself.

BTW - I love my superchip Gary! Sounds like you have a bum code... I will admit the one size fits all codes are not great though. Mine took a few tries, however each time it got more aggressive not less!

I actually had mine Re-Mapped 3 times before giving up. The original code was sent to Superchips then modified, 1st crack was quite good, more low end grunt but less power overall, second was useless, third was when I got it Dyno'd @ 189.1 bhp!!
Now thinking about a uni-Chip or the likes, in the New Year.

Hurm Gary: what code is your PCM ???

Demon: I have a superchips on mine and only had to send it do to the darn thing falling out all the time.

Si: Mine works great but would suggest a before and after Dyno pull to make sure you PCM code is one that works "well" with the chip.
