Well guys , all I can say is that Flo (his mom) had NO reason to lie about any of that (she's definately NOT that kinda person) . The throttle got jammed open (the nut was STILL in the throttle body , jamming it open ) . She said , she could not stop the car , so she turned off the key as soon as se could . I wasn't there , and I didn't do research into the stopping capability of an early 90's automatic Miata , so all I have to go on is her word (and she's good for it) . I doubt VERY much that she hit the throttle instead of the gas . Seeing as how she's owned MANY old english classic cars , when it wouldn't come back to idle , maybe (very unsure maybe at that) she thought she needed to tap the throttle to unstick the cable (?) . I don't know , I wasn't there . I just know there were nuts everywhere (including in the TB) , and she needed a new airbox & tube to fix it .

My point was ... Don't underestimate the damage a little mouse can do , NOT to argue about what happened to her & her Miata .
